Rattle traps

I tried a Rattle trap type bait today, and it worked well for me, I'm
not sure what brand it was but I would like to learn more about them.
What are some types that you guys use? and how do you fish them.

I use them in rocky areas to bang and bounce off the rocks to add to
the noise they make. Another way is over submergent weeds. I jerk
them hard to rip them free of any weed tendrils and make a racket.

YMMV

I have been throwing a Yozuri Shallow Vibe a lot the last two years.
It does not have a rattle, an advantage on high pressured fish some
times, I think. First time I used it January 07 I won a club
tournamnet with 14 pounds and had a 5.65 big fish.

I use it when the water gets below about 60 degrees - make long casts
and reel it back at different speeds with jerks and pauses. I fish it
over all kinds of bottoms - clay, rock and sand. I like it best in
fairly clear water.

I keep a rattle-trap on one of my baitcasters, and use it when there is
a south wind blowing on this little lake....that's when I can cast it to
a small island. I often let it sink, and bounce it down the rip-rap off
the island bank. I have caught a lot of nice bass when those conditions
are right, and even some big black crappie! I use a Strike King citrus
shad most of the time...my son sends them to me (it's one of his
sponsors), so I have no comparison as to brand names...I use what's
free! :) But they work for me.
