Do pre-Thanksgiving X-mas ads bother you?

When I see Christmas commercials before Thanksgiving.....I get angry.

And that is why I am in the process of forming the T.G.I.F. Society.
That stands for ThanksGiving Is First.

Between now and next year we will amass a large amount of money-through
membership fees (this will be non-profit so you may deduct it) and await the
first Christmas ad to be aired before Thanksgiving.

When that ad is aired, we will then use our funds to buy airtime and
absolutely trash the advertiser. Really cut into their sales...Promote
boycotts etc.

For you folks who do not have a Thanksgiving holiday, your support would
lend international credence to this endeavor.

What do you guys think?

Actually Greg, in a word, bluntly, yes......but you can't keep any of the
money.

I mean the Enron thing, and Haliburton and Bectel and all the rest are
merely manifestations of our greed.

In some small way, if we could protest this mad, mad, race for the dollar
and say to corporate America, "Hey, could you leave at least one holiday
alone?" We might send a message...

I figure if we do it all on the 'net, one dollar to join, we could get a
couple of hundred thousand. all in the bank waiting to clobber the first
greedy toy producing love gift emanating greeting card idiot incorporation
stupid enough to see if we 'would' take out ads against them...

....of course I think differently, but those ads really bug me. Remember
when you were a kid and it was considered bad taste to do any ads before
thanksgiving? I just want to stick my head out the window and scream!

Well, gosh, hadn't we all better go out and buy valentines day cards? It's
almost February!

and those April's fools day cards....john

So you're planning to collect a lot of money, eh ? Can I
be on the board of directors and collect a nice, tidy
salary to supplement my retirement income. Huh ?
Can I ? Can I ?

They don't bother me any more than post-Thanksgiving Christmas adds, or for
that matter, those vapid Marine-Land adds that signal the start of spring.
