Tokin Cane and GG
From his website, it appears that the late Gherke had amassed quite a supply
of Tonkin cane, as well as machinery and hardware, for his rods. Does anyone know what has happened to his investment, and all the equipment he got together? It seems that he was (according to his own accounts) pioneering all sorts of improvements in sanding machines, etc...are those things still being used, or are they just gathering dust in his barn? Just curious. I seemed like he was about neck-deep into it when he died, and according to his website, he had just invested a tremendous amount of his retirement money. --riverman |

Well, don't hold your breath. I just saw a post where someone was asking where to get boo, and I remembered that GG had imported a huge truckload of it. No one mentioned that as a potential source, so I was just curious if anyone knew what had happened with all his stuff. I seem to remember his son helping out; maybe he's still in it or something... --riverman |

Yeah, I was tokin a little bit myself this morning....
At one time, one of the boys was doing rods....right towards the end of the #12 debacle when George couldn't fill what orders he had. At least it was one of the boys who contacted me. That was some time ago. john "riverman" wrote in message ...
