I booked with him, cancelled, and went with another outfitter because Blair wasn't doing the Zhuponava River. His outfit is very well organized and although I did not book with him, he comes highly recommended. If you can afford it, Kamchatka is the place to go. See my trip report and pictures. |

Dave, I actually go by Will. While I remember you and I having a conversation I spoke with the guys from Rainbow Point Lodge about 1 day later and they said you were not going to go with me so I never considered it a canceled reservation. I hope that you had a great trip and that we can earn your business some day. After having guided on the Zhupanova 1997 and 98 I am sure of one thing, The Ozernaya is and will go down in the books as the best river found to date on Kamchatka for numbers of big rainbows.Wading, water clarity and fish size make it an incredible river system that I have been very lucky to see. I like many guides/ anglers fall in love with the first river you see in a place so I still have a soft spot for the Zhupanova. That said until we look around it is hard not to know what is out there. I do appreciate the compliment and feel we do a good job and have 100% confidence in our product, it really is like Alaska 100 years ago! |

Bucket list eh?
I'm not there yet at least I wouldn't call it that - yet. How was Tierra del Fuego and your accomodations ? The whole time and the whole experirence? Did you get anywhere beside fishing? If we go - my wife and I - we would spend 2-3 weeks in Chile and I would have to do other things than fishing or SWMBO would kill me Some cultural and cuisine stuff - perhaps some hiking or riding I can speak Spanish so it would be even more fun She would let me stay clear of big ciites I would like?? forr us to go next winter but??? We would have to make plabns for our animals Any thoughts or help is appreciated. Fred |

The ozone layer is very thin down there, so getting a bad sun burn is quite easy. My wife was happy to see me when I returned, but I caught hell about the burn on my cheeks and ears. The accomodations at Far End Rivers were the best I have ever experienced. Trip report to follow Dave |
