First three dozen

Tied up next season's first three dozen flies this morning, all soft hackles
I was shown by "??". For some reason, his tiny little variations seem
to greatly improve the effectiveness of standard patterns and I know for a
fact that he has tested a great many slight changes to arrive at his
particular favorites. He lives in a travel trailer and fishes all season
like many of my small circle of FFing buds
.... and almost 100% with soft hackles on the swing.

He catches a lot of very large trout doing so. Last year he
got a true 20inch Brown out of Firehole's Muleshoe Bend !!! and one out of
the Big Hole that looked near 10 pounds in the photo I saw ... plus many
others of note ... all on SHs

Sorry I'm not a liberty to reveal any of those small pattern details ... g
