That's some impressive resolution. I can't quite make us out, but I
see a bright yellow spot that might well be offspring's yellow
parka.

Zoom in on the far right side of the pic so that the jumbotron on the
far side of the reflecting pool is on the left side of the frame, and
the end of the other lens is on the right. Just about midway between
the two is a black truss-frame speaker/light stanchion. We'd be just
to the right of the base of that in the pic. It was behind us over
our right shoulders.

That's neat. I was trying to figure out what kind of compact
camera Yo Yo Ma was wielding, (I figure he can afford the best),
but I can't make it out.

One thing's for sure, with the advent of this new and incredible
technology I will never pick my nose in public again. ;-)

That was one of the odd (and I'm assuming, security) features present
near us. Atop the light stanchion to our left were four or five spot
lights that were blinking, not quite at strobe speed, but quick
pulses, alternating among the group. All were pointed in different
directions, and I assumed they might be for purposes of some face
recognition system. I don't believe this was present further down the
Mall, only at 4th St. It was a bit distracting/annoying before dawn,
but was less noticeable in daylight. Still, it never stopped all
day. I was curious what the technology behind that might be, if it
was anything at all.

more drivel to start your weekend. Ever tried to keep a violin in tune in
freezing weather?? What would your point be? Were the attendees in both
cases not sufficiently entertained?? Do you have some expectation that
anyone,
anywhere gives a rat's ass what your critique of the events
were?
