I have a rod I like for nymphing and one for dry flys. They have just a
little different feel to me. Does anyone else?

I like fast action rods for dry flies and slower action rods for
nymphing.

no matter what anyone else "claims" here..... i got the ho's
beat. i have a rod for every different fly i fish... and some for
different size flies of each pattern!!!

abwazanan, my dutiful ghillie, keeps them masterfully sorted in a
lovely sage logoed quiver of pale olive-brown. he keeps such a
meticulously prepared notebook handy.... similar to a golfer's
caddie book.... which he uses dutifuly to inform me of yardage,
lie, and preferred casting line. best damn investment i ever
made.... i dun know what i would do without him.

beat that knight! ;-)

all in holiday jest and spirits, yours, sir waldo.

Actually, Op needs some assistance in that dept.!

However, I do go behind Wally, and pick his flyz out of the trees. I figure
I saved myself 5 bucks today, what with retrievin' 2 nymph rigs he left
behind. Hell, if I had just waited for him to tie on a coupla other flyz, I
coulda had several more flyz.

Op --I meant ta give ya back your nymph Wally, but forgot today. You'll
get 'em back next time we fish, if you're a good boy!--

man, it is tough fishing a 9 foot rod on a small stream. i think
i hooked more trees this past two days than i did all year.
that's probably fable, but it sure seems that way.

i wanted to fish nymphs so i could get better at it. next time
i'll do it with a 7.5 4wt and leave the 9' 5wt for the big
streams/rivers.

nahh, you keep 'em..... salvage rights.
