Anyone fishing the Skwala hatch yet?

Skwala is the first stonefly hatch of the year. The Skwala hatch
should be here or right around the corner. Anyone seen em yet? Where
do they show first in the US? Patterns?
Here its the Yakima first.

Generally they start popping the end of the month first part of April over
on the Bitterroot. Hopefully this year is no exception, I plan to float it
the first three or four days of April. It's a tough time of year to catch
things just right with runoff (generally the major problem), dam openings
and bugs.

Does the Yakima see a good hatch? How long and when does it generally start?

Yes the Yak does get a good hatch of Skawala, qalthough I have not hit
it on the nose. It should be started by now.

www.worleybuggerflyco.com . . . a fly/guide shop in Ellensberg at the
head of the "Canyon"streach correctly id-ed it a few years ago and say
its Feb/March/tapering off in April.

In general, they began late in April launched the first part of the Bitterroot. Hope that this year is no exception, I plan to float in its first three four days. It was a tough year just to catch up with the runoff of things (usually the main problem), the dam opening and error.
