I believe that's a Zander. A European relative of the walleye.

I believe that's a Zander. A European relative of the walleye.


thanks steve...i thought it looked like a walleye, but it just didn't
seem comparable to the only one i've actually seen. we don't have
walleye in eastern nc, but i've heard there are some in our mountain
lakes near dams. the only one i've seen up close was the one i caught in
the wisconsin river near merrill close to where the river disappears
completely into those huge redwood pipes. caught it on a wooly bugger
while fishing for smallies.
