Matzuo spinner extra hook question
 

Some Matzuo spinnerbaits come with extra large red hook. Not sure what
it's for. Is it just a free sample to use for other fishing or is it
supposed to be part of spinner setup?

No there is no plastic on mine. So you just hook it to the end of the
permanent hook? I feel so retarded now :-(

No there is no plastic on mine. So you just hook it to the end of the
permanent hook? I feel so retarded now :-(

Usually with a trailer hook you insert the large eye into a piece of
surgical tubing, and then you put the point of the bait hook through the
tubing and eye of the trailer hook. This configuration helps to hold the
trailer in the position you want behind the main hook. I'm kinda surprised
they would include a trailer and not a piece of tubing. Some of SWLs new
line of Pro Assassinator baits come with a trailer, but the ones I got have
a short piece of tube also.

i use a trailer hook sometimes for short strikes tipped with a rind or a
the tail of a worm make a great trailer
