Any summer fishing adventures on the horizon?
If anyone has a hankering for some summer epic fishing adventure,
let's talk. Mongolia for Taimen, Canada for Lake Trout, the tropics for bonefish.....I'm game. Got all of July free and some mad money. Call it a mid life crisis. :-) --riverman |

Yeah, the 9th thru the 16th. I over-night in Lab City going up because the flight (Otter or Beaver with pontoons) to the camp is early Sat morning. It used to be great fishing. I went for four years in a row and caught lots of big fish. New owners now. The same lead guide is there, a character named Wilson who knows the river and its denizens better than any man alive. This is Lee Wulff's early stomping grounds. The river is BIG - think of a lake with current. Most fishing is done out of an 18 ft Lund, but there is wading too. Giant caddis hatches. There are also giant mosquito/gnat/noseeems -- 100% Deet the only thing that works. Accomodations are adequate (mosquito netting on bunks), while the food is pretty good. Sometimes we'll have an early dinner (5 or 6 pm), and then go out and fish the river until 10 or so. Excellent dry fly fishing. Dave |
