Western Mass tornados
On Wednesday, we had quite a show of weather here. The ROFF folk I know are
all okay, but many people I know lost all their worldly possessions. After the weather people gave the "all clear" signal, we ran from the basement to the upstairs den to watch the tornado head across the hills and (we now know) Monson, MA. Not knowing the town that houses many friends was being ripped apart, my lovely wife and I went out to celebrate 36 years of marriage. A second tornadic cell formed, tornado dropped, and just missed the restaurant. All of the trees outside were snapping off as the people inside either huddled together in the middle of the building or dove under the tables. We decided enough was enough and called off any further plans. A third one formed later that evening, but didn't drop any tornados to ground. We were pretty much out of touch for the rest of the night, as cell towers and land lines were only operational on a very spotty basis. We were able to confirm family was safe and that took a lot of doing. Contacted SG today and he said he and family are safe, and his house survived, but the area and other homes around his are devastated. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N6iPW9noTD8 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2Txmo...eature=related -- TL, Tim |

And oh, by the way, next time you have an anniversary... don't ask for the "memorable package" in you prayers. Kinda go low key, okay? Happy Anniversary to you and your bride. Frank Reid |

Not fun. Glad to hear that body and soul (such as it may be in any particular belief system) are still more or less firmly wedded. giles who has thus far managed to dodge tornadic hissy-fits for three decades or so, none the wiser as to the origins of the anymosity, but fully prepared to continue the game for as long as necessary. |
