Frank Reid Frank, I have at least 20 dyed and natural grizzley saddle pelts. Most still have at least 100 feathers on them. I have a fair number of necks that have at least 7 inch long feathers on them......the sudden cash flow would be all well and good, but what is this saying about the price of tying materials and flies themselves going forward? Laid out the necks and capes. Ladies went nuts for the shorter "fun color" dyed necks. Pink, chartreuse, blue, purple, green, yellow... Sold less than 50 feathers and walked out with a VERY nice piece of changes. 4 dollars for a feather under 8, 5 for over 8. The women start feeding on each others buying binge. Its a wonderful thing. The going price here in town is 35 to have ONE feather put in your hair. I'm going to cash in, watch the market get saturated, watch the market crash, and pick up some really nice hackle cheap. But before that, I'm pickin' up some extra fishing money. Frank Reid |

And they REALLY want the cheap, dyed stuff. I had some 5-6 dollar pink, blue, purple hackle that I charged 4 dollars a feather for and they were fighting over it. 4 or 5 bucks for under 8", 6-7 for over 8". Three beauty shops and you'll have a brand new T&T. Frank Reid (tell them cash and get all the stylists together for 1 hour before they open. They'll jump at it). |
