Tongariro and Turangi Flooding
http://homepages.ihug.co.nz/~colin.m/
Someone sent me this url is anyone wants to see the state of the Tongariro River as of last night. Hydro pool bridge is closed due to extensive damage, 100+ people have been evacuated from their homes. This is pretty minor in comparison to what has been happening in the past 2 weeks. Approx 1 billion in flood damage in the past 2 weeks. -- Real knowledge is to know the extent of one's ignorance. ---Confucius |

Tongariro and Turangi Flooding
The TT has broken its banks as well and people have been evacuated.
The Hinemaia is running 2 metres over the top of the damn. The Tongariro usually flows at 16 m3/sec, she is running at 1005m3/sec. It is getting nasty all round, and looks like the lower North Island is in for another pasting later this afternoon. Tony Bishop |
Tongariro and Turangi Flooding
Tony,
long time no see. Was at a surfcasting competition today the winning fish was the only one caught........a 30gm herring. Poor bugger had to stand up and take the prize of beer fridge and $1000. I guess the prize far outweighed the embarrassment "Bishfish" wrote in message ... The TT has broken its banks as well and people have been evacuated.
