http://crystalglen.net/Fishing/030504.htm Willi Nice shots, and some nice fish Willi. I'm puzzled by the white spots on the rocks in the last picture. Did ypouo push the saturation, and the dry spots went white? I hope the turkeys don't take the fish out of this stretch. Maybe it's catch and release. " Nice shots, and some nice fish Willi. ---still have not changed to digital--what camera do you use--the water detail is so good you could give me indoor presentation lessons.--- "see the foam over behind that rock" or as bruiser would say " he'll be over behind that rock -get ready- get ready- oh you missed him- let him take it a little before you set--now let's run to the next spot" Sure enjoyed fishing with both of you last clave---if gas prices keep going up might just have to enjoy pictures this year ! http://crystalglen.net/Fishing/030504.htm These little photo essays of yours are really, really good. I very much like seeing an intelligently chosen photo of a piece of water, then learning from which spots in it fish were taken. And what could be more welcome than a new piece of trout water opening up just 5 minutes from home? Congratulations. JR |

"Willi" wrote in message ... http://crystalglen.net/Fishing/030504.htm Willi Hi Willi, Thanks for the report and the pics. Looks like a neat area. Reminds me a bit of Bear Creek here in Denver downstream from the Reservoir. (I know you know that stream) Traveled through your neck of the woods yesterday. Went to Cabela's in Sidney. Strangely, I didn't buy a thing, but my friend who drove, managed to help support the economy on my behalf. :) May try to get up to your area this year before runoff starts. But, gotta get out to Waterton Canyon and Bear Creek here first to see if I can get my almost perfected flailing style of casting in shape. I'll know when I'm in Waterton I can probably hook a few bikers and joggers with relatively ease. (hmmm. . .might have to up the rod weight for the bikers . . . can usually turn a jogger without too much trouble ) BestWishes, DaveMohnsen Denver |

Did ypouo push the saturation, and the dry spots went white? Exactly right, good job. The fish actually was just about as colorful as the other one. The light was very harsh? for most of the day and washed out the color. I hope the turkeys don't take the fish out of this stretch. Maybe it's catch and release. It's not a real big problem. During most flows, it is a difficult place for a casual bait fisherman to have much success. Making it C&R would be a mixed blessing. The fish might be better protected but if they designate it C&R, it will be "discovered" by fly fishermen and become VERY crowded. Right now these areas are pretty much ignored by the local fly fishermen. I think this is because they are too close and they don't look like the more mountainous areas the people are used to fishing. Most people don't even know they hold trout. Willi |
