Castable Flourocarbon
I was a big fan of Seaguar Carbon Pro for a long time, but I can't see to
find it anymore. As my bulk spools of various sizes run out I am forced to try other things. Right now I am running through some Seaguar Invisx. I hate it. Its very unmanageable. Sure it's a lot more abrasion resistant than CarbonPro was, but its not that great otherwise. So far of a 7 or 8 Flouros I have tried the old Maxima that I didn't like that much compared to Carbon Pro has been the best replacement. I had a sales rep hand me a couple bulk spools of it to try several years ago. I pull a 6.8 out of the cane with it last year on 8lb test, and while its not as manageable as Carbon Pro was its so much easier to manage than Invisx that it makes Invisx feel like casting a steel wire. Still I would like something better. Moderately abbrasion resistant, sinks like flouro, has low stretch, and good clarity, and is atleast as castable as Carbon Pro. I'm at that point where I am ready to try mixing braid with a leader again. (even though braid floats) Bob La Londe www.YumaBassMan.com |
