Hi Pete,

What are you thinking of using this rod for?

How many pieces- 2, 3, 4, 5 or 6?

What rods do you own now?

What is your budget? They are running $100 to $700 USD.

Hi, I have a couple of rods that I would sale for about $50. You are
going to have a problem tho. A trout rod is going to be about a 4/5
weight. A king salmon rod is going to be about a 9/10 weight. I have a
7/8 rod that I have used for both trout and kings, and it is kind of big
for trout and kind of small for Kings. I have had salmon break both 8
weight and 9 weight rods.

I think a TFO (brand new) would be you best bet. Bill can probably sell
you a 8 or 9 weight for about $90.

I'm having a hard time deciding what to get. I fish both Salmon and Trout
but I can only afford one rod. Seems the 8wt is too heavy for Trout and a
5-6 wt is too light for Salmon. Not fun!

Peter,

What kind of salmon?

I would buy the rod to fits one of those fish you need or can use the most?
Like Steve says, it is just too much to ask of one rod.

If you get a #7, it will be too heavy for most trout and too light for most
salmon but a great size.

We do have very nice imported rods @ ~$100USD.
