I found out this morning that I'm going to get a "historic preservation
and restoration" award from our local busybodies at a banquet Thursday
night. Thousands of hours of work mostly undoing thousands of dollars of
stupid "renovations" by the previous owners of our circa 1924 Craftsman
style bungalow has resulted in one of those bull**** awards that realtors
just love to use to jack up the asking price of a piece of property.
Naturally, I'm thrilled. ;-) This little bit of serendipity might prove
to be my ticket for a fun-filled weekend of fooling fish with feathers in
the VERY near future. Woo Hoo !!

In article ,
lid says...

I hear ya -- the previous owner of our house was a DIYer, and I am
convinced he didn't own a tape measure or a T-square. Unfortunately,
our house has no historic or architectural significance, so finishing
a project only means I have to start another one. No fishing credits
or awards accrue.
