I can only get two kayaks for the float. One for me and a spare that is
already spoken for (Wolfgang by long tradition).

Tom, any canoe rentals in the area?

john (still searching but looks doubtful I'll find more....most of the guys
are out on them this week...)

John, I'll have to cancel my plans to join you guys on the PA float, I hate
to do it but I'm bushed from back to back west coast trips. And these god-
damned gas prices are over 2 bucks a gallon here locally. Just got in from
Denver this morning (shortest trip I've made lately) and I will just rest
up and maybe fish here locally this weekend. Have a great time over there
and I'll look for a TR of roff.

Best,
Frank

Aside from the various private companies that rent canoes, there's a
rack full of canoes at the park in New Berlin (our departure point). I
have placed a call to the Borough Secretary and am awaiting her return
call. They may have restrictions over how far you travel and we may
plan to exceed those limits... Once I have more info, I'll post an
update.

Frank....but, if you find the energy, you know where we are!

[snip it all]

Thanks, John. No trouble at all.

The canoes at the park are privately owned. i dunno if the canoe rack
is provided by the bor or what. In any case, if any add'l canoes or
kayaks are necessary we'll need to rent them elsewhere.

There's a place in Mifflinburg that sells canoes but I don't know if
they rent them. I placed a call but got an answering machine. I did
leave a message, so hopefully they'll call back.

Nearest canoe rentals will be in State College or Lewisburg. A guy in
Lock Haven (near my house) rents tandem kayaks for $35/day, $65/weekend.
He also has 9' and 12' kayaks (rates unknown, presumably lower).

My plan to borrow a canoe has failed - now it's a tandem kayak. While I
still have two seats, I no longer have the ability to pack much of a
cooler.

If anyone wants to rent a boat, let me know ASAP. I've only got
tomorrow and Saturday to pick it up. You can reimburse me streamside.
