Anyone using the Scott STS 9 foot 5 wt?

Hi,

I've got a very good deal(almost 50% off) on a Scott STS 9 foot 5 wt (4
pcs). The rod will mainly be used on medium sized rivers for dryfly(large
dryflies) and nympfishing. Anyone got something good/bad to say about that
rod? I'd like to hear some comments before I buy the rod.

Thank you in advance :o)

I was there a couple of years ago for a Baltic Clave in Middelfart. I
flew in/out of Copenhagen. I wish I could have spent more time there,
it seems like a lovely country.

I have the T-shirt from Christiania, but it's like the '70's,
if you can remember where it was, you weren't really there. ;-)

Thomas,

I own one(and a 6wt too), and like it for big rivers. I'd rate it as a
fast action, and very lightweight. I prefer it to the new S3 model, as
it seems to cast in close better than the new tapers. 50% off is a steal
in my opinion.

It is a very good rod. The finished product is a bit boring,
but the functionality of the rod is impressive. I like the rod
for big western rivers that are windy. I generally use it for
bigger dries and nymphing. It isn't as fast as an XP, but it
is close.

The rod has been discontinued for a couple of years in the
lighter weights.

I've had that identical rod--since 1994 or 95; I believe. One of the best
rods Scott ever made; and a damn shame they chose to discontinue that rod.

I fish everything from heavily weighted size 2 Streamers on 2X all the way
down to size 26 midges on 8X--and that rod handles them all beautifully. Buy
it--you won't regret it at full retail--50% off is a steal.
