Bow Thruster

We are about to order a new 30' + fishing boat and have been offered the
option of a bow thruster. I have no experience with this and wonder if
anyone could provide some good input.

Thanks,

Art

They make parking a boat a lot easier,, the last time I used one I slid
a 378 foot Coast Guard Cutter sideways to the dock :-)

It's a round fan or propeller inside a tube in the bow, below the water
line, it will be electric or hydraulic driven and controlled from a joystick
at the helm. This will make docking or manuerving in tight places much
easier once you get the hang of it. I recommend it.

If the boat your looking at is a single engine, a thruster is nice to
have. But if it's twins, on a boat around 30 feet, you really don't
need it. Their also great on large twin engine boats.

If given the chance,

I'd have one on my boat. It allows you to move the bow.

Get it.
