Canadian Commercial Fishing Online Resource Center Launched

January 26 2004, Halifax, NS - Schooner Solutions Inc announces the launch
of the new Canadian commercial fishing website, http://www.fishingnet.ca.

fishignet.ca will allow members of the industry from coast to coast to come
together and share information and ideas, and act as a centralized resource
center for this important Canadian industry.

Canada has the longest coastline in the world, with nearly 7 million
Canadians living in coastal areas, where many people depend on the oceans'
resources to make a living. It is for those people, communities, and
businesses that fishingnet.ca is focused to help promote and bring together.

This dynamic new resource will feature industry news, articles, links,
business directories, public discussion forums, market prices, and more
information, all focused on Canada’s commercial fishing industry. Feedback
from the readers will drive the direction of the site as it evolves, as its
main goal is to serve the needs of the industry’s members.

to provide an internet based resource to those involved," said Mark

computers in general, has exploded over the last 5-10 years; however, the
commercial fishery has tended to lag behind in this area. Information on the
industry, especially specific to Canada, is limited and difficult to find.

resource for the industry in Canada."

Mark Langille has been involved with commercial fishing throughout his life.
He comes from a family that has been part of the inshore fishery of Nova
Scotia for generations, and has worked as a deck hand in lobster, scallop,
ground fishing, as well as in processing and marine electronics sales.

fishignet.ca marks the first in a line of information technology related
products and services focused on meeting the needs on the fishing industry
