line twist

Line twist can be a problem trolling spinners.

To remove the twist, lay out the working end of your line and reel it back
on while punching it with a soft rubber scrap. (like bicicle tube rubber)
This will remove the twist.

To prevent the twist when trolling spinners, use a keel type sinker ahead
of your swivels, or switch to "safety-pin" type spinners.

line twist

A couple more tips to try.

Put a slight bend in the foremost end of the main wire. This should cause
the spinner to runn slightly below the line and reduce twist.

Another which I have had mixed results with is to put a very small split
shot on the lowest hook on the following treble hook.

I had to play with these because man years ago in a small trout stream I
could only catch fish on small rooster tails by fishing them without a
swivel. The smallest snap swivel was too much ahrdware, and they just
wouldn't hit it.
