Licence, All Year, Your Thoughts!

Do you think that when you buy a rod licence it should be for a year FROM
the date you bought it instead of having to buy 1 every april, think of
those who buy 1 in december and then have to pay again only 4 months later,
why not have it run out next december? What do you think?

The simple answer is Yes! The way they sell them now is a rip off.
Imagine the uproar if the same critera was used for the Road fund and Tv
licences.

If you buy it on 1st of April you will get 12 months worth,

Thats the way the EA see it

But for example a newcomer to the sport who started a few months ago will
have to pay again, they might then be put off by having to pay again. We are
trying to encourage people!

Yes they will be put off, but people who decide on all this don't have a
clue, we should be encouraging people into the sport and the rules do not
help this one bit.

It boils down to common sense but all they see is £££££££££.

I don't go very often. So in January I think I'll go fishing. I realise I
need a licence but refuse to shell out for a day licence when I might go
again in a fortnight. I realise that I'm being taken for a ride by the
powers that be. So I don't bother or go sea fishing instead. I might not
want to go again until the autumn and it all starts again. Hence, haven't
been fishing for ages. I wonder how many other people think like me. So if
the licence was bought on the day I went and lasted a year from that point I
wouldn't feel so ripped off, I would have a real choice; day, week or year.
What a rip off.

A day will cost you three quid. If you're not going to go ten times in a
year then the cheaper option is to buy one day at a time. In your instance
it seems the appropriate choice.

Cheerio,
