Book?
"Holly the Heretic" wrote in message ... Can any of you guys recommend a book which covers all the basics of fishing for a person who knows absolutely nothing about it (me)? I've been invited in a trip to fish in the Thames next month and am moving to a place on the Liverpool/Leeds canal which is apparently good for fish. I need something that assumes no prior knowledge and explains everything from rod type/size to bait, hooks, lures, etc. I've had a look round some websites but it all seems a bit complicated, what with all the newfangled equipment that's available. There are loads of cheap rods on eBay but I don't want to buy something so useless that it will snap in the unlikely event that I manage to catch anything :-) There are literally hundreds of 'basic' fishing books. A visit to your local library should give you a few to choose from. As for tackle, I'd recommend a visit to your local tackle shop rather than trusting to ebay. A good tackle dealer won't sell you rubbish. |
