Western Conclave - The Final Update

Hey guys,

I dropped you all an email tonight with a link to pics from my last
recon mission. If you didn't get the email, drop me a line and will
send it to you. Here is the link:
http://www.geocities.com/troutbum_mt2/UM1.html

The main bugs right now are golden stones, salmonflies and caddis.
For more info, check out the links to the fly shops and fishing
reports I put up on the clave web page. Despite the fowl weather, I
saw several tan caddis, a golden stone and a salmonfly. Even if we
have missed the main hatch of the stones by several days, the fish
will still be keyed on those when you guys get here. There are
still some out and about, but the fish may be getting full and might
need a few days to digest before going after the big bugs again.
Make sure you are ready for both the fishing and the weather. ;-)

I am leaving here the afternoon of the 8th and should be at Clave
Central around 8 PM. I will be up and ready to fish on Friday.
Give me a holler when you get in.

Any special reason why you picked the Cabin Creek campground
and not the Beaver Creek campground just a couple miles away
(which is WAY off the road)?

Kevin
not that I expect you to change anything now

The Cabin Creek Campground is easier to find people in, closer to
actual fishing, easier to get in/out of and just plain easier to
find. Plus it has an actual creek running along the campground so
if you get a spot in the back, you hear running water. That sound
alone made that campground much better, IMO. If people don't like
it, they can camp at Beaver Creek and drive back and forth for the
nightly fires and "camaraderie." The reason I chose the whole area
was that it concentrates people. I'll have none of this "We are at
a cabin 30 miles away from Clave Central so feel free to drop by
when you are in the area" ****. ;-)
