There are probably a few somewhere but you are heading for an area with
wonderful trout streams and tarns, rivers with sea-trout and a few salmon,
lakes filled with perch, pike, char even...

You won't miss your carp fishing for the first fifteen years or so.

When you say South Cumbria, where exactly do you mean?

There's some exellent carp fisheries around North Lancashire which isn't far
away...Wyreside fishery at Dolphinholme and half a dozen others nearby...

Fishing in Cumbria
 

Ratherheath tarn just off the kendal to windermere road carp to 24lb
controlled by windermere, ambleside distict anglers, day tickets are
avialable, if you want any more details give me a shout fish this area quite
often
