RedGhost Stalk set July 25-26 - The Islamorada Fishing Club has
scheduled its third annual "RedGhost Stalk," an all-release
backcountry fishing tournament for kickoff Sunday, July 25, and
fishing on Monday, July 26.
Targeted species are redfish and bonefish.
This is a fishing tournament designed to give juniors and young adults
an opportunity to fish in a first-class, competitive event that offers
substantial recognition for their angling skills. The winners of the
two age divisions, juniors (11-16) and young adults (17-25) will earn
qualification to fish in the 2004 Mercury/IGFA Junior World
Championship and the Rolex/ IGFA Inshore Championship.
The entry fee is $75, which includes annual membership in the IGFA,
social ticket, tee-shirt and ditty bag. The fees are being kept at a
minimum due to generous sponsorships and donations from businesses and
individuals throughout South Florida. Financ-ial aid is available.
Guides are not required but are suggested. The tournament is limited
to 40 boats. For more information contact Sherri Trice (305) 664-3864;
