Getting the humpy

This question is inspired by a side topic raised in the questions
regarding calf tail wings.
That question is what is the perfect humpy? ie proportions, colour and
materials. I've got my own ideas but lets hear yours first.

Cheers
Andrew

The perfect humpy is tied by someone else.

;-)

Not too big a hump, not too much hackle. Largely used here as an
attractor so colour can be important. Orange bellied royals in 18-14 have
been good to me and tied rather more sparsely than what you can usually
purchase.

All sorts of blundering beasties burst from the trees on balmy nights. A
dark, Red Bellied Black royals (#10) have been good. These are tied in
the (more normal?) heavily dressed manner.

"What is the perfect humpy?"

That depends ...

;-)
