Hi Max and welcome aboard. Try here http://www.rofb.net/faq.htm, or here
www.outdoorfrontiers.com, both site will give you a ton of information, or
you can feel free to ask any questions you want right here.

I'm getting back into fishing after many years.

The way I used to fish was "nightcrawlers, one on top with bobber and
one on the bottom without." I suppose that'll be it for a while, but
I'm looking to learn a bit more and expand my horizons a bit. Maybe even
get really crazy and try artificial baits. ;-)

Could any of you recommend a good overall book? Right now I don't know
a Texas rig from an Irish Jig!

If it helps, I'll be fishing ponds/lakes for the most part, going after
bass, bluegill, crappie.

Thanks.

Might want to consider Rich Z's book, _Advanced Bass Techniques_. It doesn't
launch right into techniques, but spends some time helping you understand
bass and what makes them tick first, so the subsequent technique and tackle
advice makes sense. You can buy a copy from Rich at his site,
http://richz.com, or call around to local new and used bookstores.

A good bass fishing primer is Ronnie Garrison's _The Everything Fishing
Book_. Read a review on this Web site:
http://saltfishing.about.com/cs/begi...prgarrison.htm.

Coincidentally, both of these authors hang out on this newsgroup.
