No more trip reports....no smallmouth, no anti-clave

Not for me. No sir.

It took two decades but I've finally made it. No more field work.

My unique outlook, my keen analytical mind, my uncanny ability to
assemble, correlate and decollate obscure bits of information, forming a
grasp of a picture too large to be seen by the naked eye,has been
acknowledged.

I am at that unnamed institution that can only be referred to as ' the
training center,' no caps allowed.

Yes, I have been promoted to the secret facility the location of which will
not appear on any map. No more running around and gallivanting off to fish
whenever I wish,

My wings have been clipped, I'm grounded.

Yes, five days a week, eight hours a day with an hour for lunch I serve in a
capacity that few have been called to serve in.

The most sensitive documents, the most trusted secrets, the very inner
workings pass through my hands. I hold in my hands the data others merely
suspect exists. . . . as I file it away in it's unopened manila envelope.

A position unparalleled. A position of respect. It is 'I' who decides who
shall enter and who shall leave as I speak into the little hole in the
window and say, "May I help you?"

I am in the Ivory Tower.

I may be here a while

john . . . . . .Please send food. I think they're planning something
sinister. Already, I have to tuck my hair up under my hat.

Well, ****...on the verge of my VERY occasional OBROFF trip report
(which I completely detest doing...this one on a few Colorado rivers -
the Taylor, Arkansas, etc., and assorted creeks nearby) and I find this
bit of discouraging news...ah, well, that's why they call it fishing and
not reporting...therefore, should anyone be headed thataway soon and
wish something other than the upcoming Raoul version, drop me an
email...

Gonzoily yours (and currently live from Woody Creek),
R

PS to Willi - you shoulda answered that invitation...hee-hee-hee...
