Crayfish trapping

Hi,

I was wondering if anyone could help me regarding the UK Law on Crayfish
trapping.
I understand that the native crays are protected, but the signal crays are
ok to catch.(and tasty too) Is there a limit to how long the trap can be
set, or time of year etc...
Also would I need a rod licence?

Thanks for your help
T
