black spots on cutthroat in Teton River

I had some good time recently fishing for cutthroat trout in the Teton River
in Idaho. Just caught a few, but noticed that some had these black spots on
them. Looked like sort of a fungus. Had never seen this before fishing in
the east.

Can anyone explain what it is? Is it harmful to the fish?

Phil
