I have a dream

Thanks for the thoughts, Don. I'm leaning towards B, but I certainly
agree that similar looking flies have a reason to live together, too.

Set-up for holding many many flies...?

Does anyone know if - and where - it's possible to buy something that
would hold and organize a great many flies? I'm thinking something

Best reel under $100? Best reel under $50?

I went for the Battenkill bar stock (of course, the most expensive -
have to break that habit!) We'll see now if I like this enough to
justify the cost, or if next year I'll be trading down again to...

Best reel under $100? Best reel under $50?

Also meant to ask: any opinions on either the G. Loomis Venture ($100,
with $60 spools) or the Orvis Battenkill Disk Drag ($85, but the
spools are only $35, which is nice)?

Best reel under $100? Best reel under $50?

I've had an Orvis CFO III for some time now, and while it's a nice
reel, I just can't afford to buy the requisite number of $115 spools
to match the different fly lines I use. And, at the same time,...

Arroyo Pescado in Argentina?

I'm starting a 10-day mostly-DIY trip down to Patagonia on Wednesday,
and I only speak a little spanish. I'll let you know how it goes.

Meanwhile --

So, nobody's actually tried to fish the Arroyo...

Arroyo Pescado in Argentina?

Hey - has anyone here fly fished the Arroyo Pescado in Argentina? And
if so, do you know if one requires a fishing guide and/or reservation
to fish there?

I know it's a private fishing spot that...

Sage Z-Axis 5 weight - 9' vs 8'6"

On the surface this seems like a ridiculous question, but: has anyone
cast a 5-weight Sage Z-Axis in the 9' and 8'6" size against one
another? And if so, is there a significant difference between...

DIY Fly Fishing in Patagonia (argentina / chile)?

Hi Dave,

I tried googling that sort of info, and was surprised to find that I
couldn't find anything. In a way, that makes it all the more
tempting, you know? Still, I was hoping for some kind of...

Wow.

Thank you for your thoughts, everyone. I think I have learned that
a)
mono leaders are basically the same in terms of memory, b) the
friction from my fingers should be enough to straighten...

Leaders with least memory? (Also, wallet suggestion?)

Just lost my leader wallet, and all of my leaders. Before I go out
and by a whole new set, figured I'd get your collective opinions on
your favorite mono-tapered leaders, and leader wallets. But...

Not weird, not even all that remarkable in a way, but a catch I will
nevertheless remember forever: I once caught my own sunglasses.
Specifically:

I was travelling the country with a friend during...

Toughest waders?

As for the wetsuit -- I like that idea. But one question: are the
booties something that keep your feet warm? The wetsuits I know are
foot-less, and I think my toes would freeze. That's probably...

Toughest waders?

R - Do you do that, buy cheap waders and replace often? I do that
with boots, but that's mainly because I can usually get them crazy
cheap in the off-season, as I have size 8 feet, and those tend to...

Toughest waders?

Are the Guides tougher than the G3s? Or vice versa? (I think the

I'm sick of patching my waders every other trip. Up until now I've
been using the Orvis, whatever the top of the line was a few years
back. I do a lot of aggressive hiking, and falling on sharp...
