learning not to strike
Yesterdy at the lake - quite cold and a stiff breeze but trout were jumping
clean out of the water. Put on a dry sedge and twitched it across the waves.
Three casts, three rises - struck at them...

1st day
Got to Farmoor Flyfishers Darlow lake in West Oxfordshire about 11am
yesterday - season opened on April 1st. Water level high, cold and with a
gentle NE breeze that had an edge to it. Not too many...

1st days out
Farmoor 1 is no more - taken back by Thames Water - leaving Darlow for the
club. I got there last Thursday about 11.30. Light breeze and warm. Not
too many fishing - lots of space. I walked...

Winter fishing
I used to fish Farmoor 2 in the winter - somtimes you could find a shoal
of rainbows close to the bank and cast to individual fish - (some were
5lb plus but I only caught the smaller ones) - moving...
