Another freestone rainbow stream, this time the Elandspad . The fish are
being quite
co-operative at the moment provided that your flies are small and

As far as I know these streams were last stocked about 40-50 years
ago, probably with fish originating from the UK. These trout have adapted to
their environment over the years and are able to...

African Rainbow Streams

A classic free stone stream an hour from Cape Town. The dry fly fishing is

A few more pics from the De Mond estuary area, my favourite place. This time

Yellows in the bass dam

Absolutely right. Thanks for clearing that up guys.

Here in South Africa there has been a huge move in targeting the various
Yellowfish species, especially on fly . Shortline nymphing has been a...

Evening sessions on the dam

A few more pics from our last Citrusdal trip at the end of May . The fish is
a Clanwilliam

Smallmouth Bass.

The Bass was...

Goliath Tiger teeth

They prey on other fish and other smaller tigerfish.

They share the water with crocodiles so they need to well armed I guess.

Pushing tide

This is one of my favourite fishing spots called De Mond, very near Cape
Augulas, the southern-most point of the African continent. An estuary
opening on a massive stretch of beach. These pics are...

These are the indigenous fish from the area, Clanwilliam Yellowfish.
