I believe you are correct; in all my wanderings around, I definately have
not explored that region enough. Hiked the AT through the Blue Ridge
Parkway, and drove/hitchhiked through on the highways many times, but the
lure of seeing the mountains is strong. If nothing good pans out at the job
fair in Boston in 2 weeks, SWMBO has given me permission to take a year off
and get some of this 'fishing/camping/canoeing' bug out of my system. If
that happens, I *will* make the fall anti-clave, thanks! I'll keep you
posted.
By coincidence my spring dates were set just moments ago. SWMBO
spent the morning cursing Ticketmaster but finally succeeded in
getting tix to U2 in Chicago during the second week of May. So,
neither one of us being interested much in a U2 concert, me and
Kipper the Hound will be in North Carolina that week. Approximately
May 8-14.
We stay in Bryson City, just across the Graham County line in Swain
County. I'll fish in Graham County but I'll be damned if I'll ever
spend one red cent there if I can help it. There's something perverse
and unholy about a dry county and I'll spend my lodging, food, gas
and supply money elsewhere.
