Default Revisiting tippet vs spooled mono

A few years back Peter Charles talked about using spooled mono to replace
high-priced tippet material. I was wondering, with all the advances in
materials, if anyone had compared the newer spooled mono's to tippets for
strength, diameter, refraction or ?

My interest is that I am having too much difficulty tying tippets, leaders
and flies when on the water; especially in the cold. My vision, never the
best, along with my less-than-desirable small motor skills has me finally to
the point of no knots on the water program.

My system requires that I use a LOT of tippet in order to avoid tying knots.
So, the reason for my question.
