for 1/2 Sunday morning. Then drive back. I'll have a rental car so the
boat would need to be on the lake or have one of the outfitters tow it.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Lake Fork including guide service, lodging, boat rentals, and ect. Also
contains the most current fishing report from some of the guides on the
lake.

As far a guides go, contact Jerry McDonald at 903-383-7216. After suffering
a stroke nearly 2 years ago, he no longer guides, but still stays in touch
with whats going on the lake. Prior to the stroke, he was one of the
foremost guides on Fork and started guiding there before the lake was even
filled. He can give you recommendations on a guide, lodging, fishing
patterns, and whatever else that you need to know. He will welcome your call
and is one of the truly nicest guys that you would hope to meet. I think
that the link to his web site is still posted on the web site I listed
above.

I regularly fish Fork and I highly recommend a guide for anyone for a first
trip to Fork as it can be a tough nut to crack due to the heavy fishing
pressure the lake recieves year round, particularly on the weekends. Someone
who fishes the lake on a daily basis can stay on top of the patterns even
better than even someone such as myself that fishes it only 3 to 4 times a
month. That said, it is one of the few lakes that on any given cast, one
could be hooked up with a bass of a lifetime. Bass over 10+ pounds are
caught there on a regular basis and bass in the 4 to 8 pound class are
common, it's one of the reasons why it take a 13 or better for the Share a
Lunker Program that is put on by the TP&W.
