Here in the southwest we have a yellow bass we also call sun bass. all of
the suggestions plus night crawlers and crayfish with a mackerel rig. which
is main line egg weight swivel cork bobber on a three foot leader with your
bait of chouse. you get to control the depth at which your bait swims at.
This rig was used mostly from shore.

By far minnows are the best bait. If in the South, use "shiners."
The bigger the shiner the bigger the bass. But you have to know where
and how to fish them. Get a local (bait shop maybe) to "educate" you.
