Hey all,
I was at BassPro recently, and had a chance to handle all the Pflueger LP
Baitcasters for 2005. To put it bluntly , I am ****ed at myself for
purchasing 3 more Curados. I just ordered a Pflueger Purist , which is
the 3rd in line behind the President, and Trion. The bearing system in
those reels in unbelievable. One thing you can do, is just lightly flick
the spool forward and watch how long the thing spins freely. As for
quality during actual fishing conditions, that is yet to be determined. I
am excited about getting out and putting it through hell. I plan on using
it as a flipping reel, and if I really like it, I will probably look to
upgrade next season to a couple presidents, we will wait and see.
I was just wondering if anyone has handled, and used any of the newer
Pflueger reels, and what opinions they had of them.

Well Curados are made in Taiwan, so I guess I don't really see the
arguement there, except that maybe you view China as more of a threat
because they are a superpower, and not because neither Shimano or
Shakespeare manufacter the aforementioned reels in the US meaning less
American jobs. But that just opens a whole other can of worms.
I will keep you updated on how the reel handles. I still love Curados,
but if I can save $50 per reel, and get the performance and longevity I
desire then that will be the direction I go.
