Would you guys laugh too hard at me if I came down and rented a pontoon
boat to fish the MTC?

By the time you get to greener pastures, you're too old to climb the
fence......
April is a pretty windy month anywhere, I guess, but in the last few
years it's been a major factor in our April MTC. Boat handling is
important any time, and a pontoon boat is hard to manage in tight
quarters, around willows, brushpiles, and buckbrush. Add wind to the
equation and you've got a real challenge.
If you rent a pontoon boat, you'll want to head for the numerous deep,
sheltered hollows on Center Hill where you can creep around the
perimeter and fish the shelves, laydowns, bluffs, and secondary points.
You may not be able to get back in where the bass are chasing minnows
back in the willows and flooded timber, but you will not lack for
plenty of likely targets.
Oh yes... you'd get a few chuckles, but don't let that stop you. After
a day or two in a rocking bass boat (or a few hours in the ODF) you may
have guys paying you to let them join you on its spacious, stable deck.
