Trick I learned from Larry Nixon -- only applies in warmer weather,
obviously.

When the rain gear goes on, the shoes come off and get stowed in a dry
box. Your feet are going to be wet anyway. Might as well keep your shoes
and socks dry for after it stops.

boots. I happen to use West Marine brand, as the size 14's were on sale.
But all the ocean tuna guys use the purpose built fishing boots.
