I managed to take advantage of the first nice day of spring in Southern
Maryland and hit the St. Marys lake (trophy bass lake) yesterday. While the
dam has sprung a leak and they have drained it a bit lower than they wanted
to, and I having a canoe had the advantage!
After finding a spot out of the wind, I proceded to catch 5 LM bass and lost
more than a dozen on the woody bottom. (got to change my leader as it broke
off). (Using watermellon Gary Yammoto worms)
No biggies but all about 1 1/2 pounds but still fun finding and landing
them.
Spring is here and the canoe is on the roof of the car and always gives the
guards at the navy base a fun time finding the base stickers, they do
understand and some even ask where and when I go and how the fishing is.
I got my trolling motor bracket the other day and I am going to get my first
TM in a few days. Boy I love rowing but to get across 250 acres of lake
paddling sure does take fishing time away. Wish me luck for a first time
buyer!

Hi Bruce,
Sounds like fun. I'm still waiting for the water to soften enough for
a lure to penetrate here in Northcentral WI :} What trolling motors
have you been looking at?
Any Collins R390A's laying around the base waiting for the axe?
