I live in MA and my go to lure is a Senko. I decided to ad some jigs to the

Are these things designed for rocky bottoms only?
Jigs designed for use IN the weeds have the line tie at the extreme
front of the head and have a cone or triangular shaped head to minimize
the front surface area. In heavy milfoil and pads like you commonly have
in MA, (I'm in CT, so fish similar conditions much of the time) you're
pretty much limited to pitching and/or flipping to holes or openings in
the surface mat, and either fishing the initial drop only or employing
very short retrieves.
But almost any head design will work along the outside edge of the
veggies, which is the pivot point for bass movements in natural lakes.
