Offshore & Outer Banks:
Early season Albacore are making a move up the line, into the inner
banks, as fish were caught at the 302, 390, 295, 238, and as close as
the nine mile bank. Yellowtail have also appeared in a variety of
areas, on the right kelp paddy, close to shore and way offshore.
Tunaboy reportedly caught some albacore and either a 20 lb. Bluefin
tuna or a lost Yellowfin tuna, northeast of the 390 on Sat.

Weather impacted many trips this weekend, as my scheduled trip with
Bill Havens on his 24' Skipjack "Salty Dawg" Sat., was cancelled. Even
though it appeared we could fish, better to be safe, than sorry, when
planning to go 80-100 miles offshore. One boat did make it to the
Dumper on Sat. in OK conditions, but never found any albies. John
fished on his buddies boat Sat. the "Barbara Ann" out of the Ensenada
Coral, for one 15 lb. albacore and eleven...

Channel Islands:
The big halibut have moved into the Channel Islands, as a number of
fish have been caught recently over 35 lbs. Jimbo on his boat "Badger"
fished last week at Santa Cruz island for a 45 lb. Halibut. Flatty
Matty fished last week on his boat "The Prevailer" with crew, and
caught 41, 35, 25 & 17 lb. butts. David fished on his boat "Sweet
Marissa" Friday, at Santa Cruz Island, with friend Edward, with a 37
lb. halibut for David while, Edward caught a 15 lb. butt.

The WSB have been on a steady bite at the Channel Islands, not sure
which one, Cruz or Rosa, hush hush by the sporties. Several private
boaters were out there this weekend, but ended up with limits of
Rockfish, and no WSB, nor did they see any sportboats catching
anything.

Local Scene:
Enormous T-sharks have moved in near the coast between Newport and
Oceanside. Max fished on his boat "Spanish Mack" out of Oceanside
Thursday, Friday & Sat. with different crews, catching a 205 Lb.
Thresher Thursday, and releasing another T-shark Friday, then AJ and
crew spent six hours Sat. fighting a Thresher off San Onofre, which
eventually died, and weighed in at a whopping 368 lbs., wow!!!!!!! Your
boat is Red Hot Max! Bill fished on his boat "Hannapah" Thursday out of
Newport Beach, and caught a huge 305 lb. Thresher Shark. Bill fought
the T-Shark for...
