Default Got out today, but no monster bass.

Tried out my pond boat today. Went to a friend's private lake, about 20
or 25 acres. Very secluded, you have to drive about a mile down a road
that is little more than a path, and if it starts raining, good luck
getting out. Took his 14 year old son with me. We covered most of the
lake in the 5 hours we were there, and I never saw the bottom anywhere
bacause of the hydrilla. We just finished several beautiful days with
highs 80º to 85º. Cold front (cold for here, anyway) was blowing in this
morning, winds variable from 10 to 20, high about 65º, water temp 71º.
We caught 6, most of them on a jitterbug, all 1-1/2 lb+, biggest one 2lb
12oz. We lost at least as many as we landed, because as soon as you
would try to set the hooks, they would bury up in the hydrilla, and you
would reel in 10 lbs of salad. Sometimes you could see you still had the
fish on 4 or 5 feet from the boat, but no fish at boatside. All in all a
fun day, we left earlier than I wanted, but it was starting to sprinkle,
and come Monday morning I didn't want to tell my boss that his truck was
stuck in a cow pasture a mile away from pavement.
