Randy, it's really no difference with that attitude among western bass
anglers than it is for "specialists" in any region.

Around here, there are muskie anglers that even if they catch a big bass or
walleye won't give it a second thought. Northern Pike, if caught are
considered trash fish and some guys I know will rip the gills out and toss
the fish back in the lake!

I was fishing with a die-hard walleye nut one day when on a deepwater rock
pile, we started catching 10 - 12 inch bluegills. I had never caught gills
that big and was really excited to be catching fish of that caliber. Billy
wanted to leave and kept whining about catching big gills until I finally
couldn't take it any longer and left, but not before carefully taking
bearings so I could find the rocks again.

It seems that there are some that unless they catch the fish they are
targeting, consider other fish trash. Me on the other hand, as long as I'm
getting my string stretched, I'm loving it. Right Moe?
