quite the contrary brad, i love patoka! i say lucky, cause i have to
live up here in michigan.
What brings you down to Patoka from Michigan? Our club will be there in August
for a tourney this year.
thanks for the advice, i'll be in heaven if i get to see a few hit
topwater lures. and i'll have my usual ton of 6" lizards.
If the topwater bite is on, you will have fun. We had a tourney there two
years ago and all I fished for two days was a Skitter Pop around shoreline
grass.
Other baits I have faired well with on top were Super Spook Jr., Sammys,
Splash-Its, Super Flukes and High Rider Double Buzzbaits. Baby and Mid minus
cranks do well over submerged grass. Spinnerbaits also.
As for plastics, 6" lizards, Baby Brush Hogs, Texas rigged worms and 5" Senkos
always get some bites.
If the grass is matted in some of the coves and bays, a frog may get some
action also dragged over the grass.
