Well, the truth is that I am still using the old fashioned "modified blood
knot". I guess it could be that the lure is simply "sliding off" of the
slippery knot, rather than the line actually breaking off.

I will re-tie with a Palomar and try to snap the d%$# thing off and report
back. I'm certain I can work in a "professional overrun" in the next 20 or
so casts!
